A LINK AND A BREAK IN TIME
Emer O’Brien, Dionisios Christofilogiannis, Effie Halivopoulou, Tim Ward, Nikos Falagas, Zoe Hatziyannaki, Dimitris Ioannou, Giorgos Ioannou, Georgia Kotretsos, Irini Miga, Jennifer Nelson
Curated by Ioanna Papapavlou, Ana S. González Rueda, Christos Asomatos
The exhibition A LINK AND A BREAK IN TIME brings together new works by the faculty of the Visual Arts Department at Deree - The American College of Greece, mostly produced in collaboration with academic peers and students, showcased in dialogue with artworks from the ACG Art Collection. Reflecting on the long history of the school – its culture, nuances, and moments of transition – the exhibition presents a constellation of narratives in a non-chronological, non-linear configuration. Drawing on their dual roles as artists and educators, as well as on personal and collective memories, participants offer a meditation on the past while alluding to the present and future. Conceived as a collaged roadmap, the exhibition visualizes the evolving journey of arts education at the school.
